the short version
- Pregame is for 18+ only. Your birthday stays private; people only see your age.
- People browsing the map see a rough area for a pres, never the address. The exact address is only shown to the host and the people they accept.
- We don't store your live location on our servers, and we don't track you across other apps or sites.
- We don't sell your data or use it for advertising.
- You can delete your account in the app at any time (profile → ⋯ → delete account).
who we are
Pregame runs the app and this website. We are the "controller" of your personal data under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Contact us at hello@clubmaxxing.app.
what we collect and why

We don't ask for special category data (such as health, religion or sexuality). Please don't put it in your bio or posts. We don't use your photos for facial recognition.
our legal bases
- Contract: running your account, profile, pres, requests, posts and stories, because you asked us to provide the service.
- Legitimate interests: keeping the app safe (age checks, moderation, reports, preventing abuse and spam), security logs, and improving the app. We've balanced these against your rights, and you can object (see your rights below).
- Consent: using your phone's location (you can turn it off in your phone's settings at any time) and emailing you about the waitlist and launch (you can unsubscribe at any time).
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep or share information, for example a valid request from the police.
location rules
- Your location. If you allow it, the app uses your phone's location while you're using it to find pres nearby and to work out your city. The coordinates are sent with the search and not saved against your account. We only keep the city name, which you can edit. We never use location in the background.
- Pres on the map. When you post a pres, we store the exact address privately and publish a point moved 300 to 500 metres in a random direction, plus an area name you choose. That's all anyone browsing ever sees.
- The exact address is only shown to the host and to guests the host has accepted. It stops being shown once the pres is closed or deleted (pres close automatically 12 hours after the start time).
- Your phone may send coordinates to Apple or Google to draw the map and turn coordinates into a place name. That is covered by their own privacy policies.
18+ only
Pregame is for adults aged 18 and over. You confirm your date of birth when you sign up, and our database rejects anyone under 18. If we find out an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it. If you think someone is under 18, report their profile and choose underage.
moderation and reports
You can report a profile or post from the flag button. Reports go to our team, not to the person you reported. We review them, and may remove content, restrict features or ban accounts that break our terms. We keep a record of reports and the action taken so we can spot repeat offenders. Where there is a risk to someone's safety, we may share relevant information with the police or emergency services.
who we share it with
We never sell your data. We use these service providers ("processors"), who only handle data on our instructions and under a data processing agreement:

If you sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email", we only get a relay address. When data goes outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations (including for the EU and the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses.
how long we keep it
- Your account and profile: until you delete your account. Deleting it removes your profile, birthday, pres, requests, posts, stories, follows and vouches straight away. Photo files are removed from storage within 30 days.
- Stories: visible for 24 hours, then deleted about a day later.
- Pres: close 12 hours after their start time. The exact address is deleted when you delete the pres or your account.
- Reports: kept while we deal with them and for up to 2 years after, so we can act on repeat abuse. A report you made is deleted if you delete your account; a report about you is kept without your profile attached.
- Waitlist emails: until we launch in your area and for up to 12 months after, or until you ask us to remove you.
- Logs and backups: technical logs are kept for a short time (usually under 30 days). Database backups roll over, so deleted data disappears from them within 30 days.
your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your data (access), including in a portable format
- correct anything wrong (most of it you can edit yourself in settings)
- delete your data
- restrict or object to how we use it, including anything we do for legitimate interests
- withdraw consent, for example to location or waitlist emails
Deleting your account: in the app, go to your profile → ⋯ (settings) → delete account. It's immediate. If you can't get into the app, email hello@clubmaxxing.app from the address on your account. See support for step-by-step help.
Email hello@clubmaxxing.app for any other request. We'll reply within one month, and it's free. If you're not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, though we'd appreciate the chance to sort it out first.
security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is locked down per user in the database (row level security), so for example only you can read your birthday, and only accepted guests can read a pres address. No system is perfect: if a breach puts you at risk, we'll tell you and the ICO as the law requires.
cookies
This website doesn't use advertising or analytics cookies. The app stores your sign-in session securely on your phone.
changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, we'll tell you in the app first.
